Eagle Spirit Science Futures
Eagle Spirit Science Futures is an outreach program that encourages and supports Indigenous youth in pursuing studies and careers in health and science at McGill University. We offer an annual 1-week Eagle Spirit Science Futures Camp, providing hands-on workshops and learning opportunities, mentoring support and information for students, parents and educators.
Our program also fosters connections between McGill health students and Indigenous youth through our Electronic Tutoring and Mentoring Program (ETM). Youth are matched with tutors and/or mentors who can help them with their school work and share their experience about studying in health at McGill.
We invite Indigenous youth to consider exploring the following health professional programs offered at McGill University:
The Eagle Spirit Science Futures Camp offers Indigenous youth an amazing opportunity to experience life as a medical or health student. We hope this opportunity will excite youth to pursue their studies and a career in health care. An initiative like the Eagle Spirit Camp is just enough to start them down that road and our Indigenous Health Professions Program is designed to support students from their application process, during their studies and onto graduation" - Dr. Kent Saylor, Mohawk Pediatrician, Director of Indigenous Health Professions Program at McGill University
